Baja do Pinhal 2020: Turnaround - Race is no more canceled, but postoned to one week later.

Escuderia Castelo Branco will advance to the realization of Baja TT do Pinhal on 19 and 20 September. The solution found was accepted by the entities involved and received the endorsement of the Portuguese Federation of Motoring and Karting and by the Federation of Motorcycling of Portugal.

From the surprise experienced by the announcement that the Baja TT do Pinhal could not be held on 12 and 13 September, due to the prolonged situation of wildfire risk, those in charge of Escuderia Castelo Branco quickly sought a solution that would minimize the damage caused by the cancellation of the race at the last minute and the competition was still taking place in good time.

In less than three hours, it was possible to define that instead of being canceled, Baja TT do Pinhal was postponed by one week. So, instead of being held on the 12th and 13th of September, it goes to the slopes of Pinhal Interior on the 19th and 20th of September.

“Despite the surprise, we had, with the decision of the Minister who forbade the realization of Baja TT do Pinhal this weekend, we sought a solution. We initiated contacts with all decision-making entities and put forward a new date. We are in a position to guarantee that, from Escuderia Castelo Branco, Baja TT do Pinhal will take place a week later, that is, on the 19th and 20th of September ”, stated the president of the organizing entity, António Sequeira.

Baja TT do Pinhal will thus take place, with the same competitive format that had been presented. In other words, automobiles will have Sertã as their operational center, while motorbikes, quads and SSV are established in Vila Velha de Ródão. The competition will run for two days, with a selective sector for each category on Saturday. On Sunday, cars compete in one more sector, while motorcycles, quads and SSV perform two selective sectors.
