Baja Portalegre 2021: Entries for the 35th edition of Baja Portalegre are now open.

ACP - Automovel Club de Portugal, the organizer of Baja Portalegre, opened today the entries for the 35th edition of Baja Portalegre 500 and the final round of FIA World Cup for Cross Country Bajas.

The participants should visit the official site: www.bajaportalegre.com  in order to make their entry into the race. Entries at a reduced price run until October 8th. Up to October 15th prices will suffer an increase.

The Baja will take place from October 28th to 30th and to FIA Cross Country Bajas World Cup and the FIM Bajas World, in addition to the National Championships of FPAK and FMP.

As the 35th Baja Portalegre 500 will be the last event of the 2021 FIM World Cup and as such the scores will count in double. 
The race will also be valid for the FIA European Cup in Bajas, a new competition created by FIA at includes the European competitions that are also part of the FIA Baja World Cup.

Also the Yamaha Europe SSV Cup "YXZ 1000R CUP" is back in Portalegre for their final round. Entering this competition will be the 22 winning drivers of the championships of the various countries that have their own local cup.

PROGRAM (draft)
October 28th — Thursday - Administrative and technical verifications. prologue recce and, if possible ceremonial start.
October 29th -  Friday - SSI (5kms) and SS2 (80 km).
October 30th -  Saturday  - SS3 ( 160kms) and SS4 (210 kms).  Auto and Moto departures will be to different locations. Podium ceremony and, if possible, late in the afternoon, prize delivery at Nerpor.

National Championship (TPTT) and AUTO Promotion (except PromoM), will to SSI. SS2 and SS3 HOBBY (Bike, Quad, and SSV, national event) Will do SSI and SS4 on the 30th of October.
For MINI BAJA, the prologue is not mandatory. This race will take place on Saturday  30th October and will have around 100 km.

Contingency plans and constraints
Because we are still in an alert situation because of the Covid 19 pandemic and in compliance with the various rules and guidelines imposed by the Portuguese authorities, participation in Baja requires that each of us, the organization and competitors, accept and collaborate in strict compliance with the requirements described in the Contingency Plans of VIA, FIM, FPAK and FMP, as well as the contingency plan to be approved by DGS (National Health Authority).  The document with the Codiv-19 contingency plan guidelines will be available soon at the Baja site.
