After a 10-year break, the Russian Rally Raid Championship returns to Rostov to race the 2019 Baja Rostov

The "Interregional Association of Rally Raid Athletes" together with ROOO "Automobile Sports Federation", with the support of the regional Government and the Ministry of Sports of the Rostov Region, will organize the Baja "Rostov 2019" on September 19-21, 2019.  The race will take place in Rostov-on-Don and in the Rostov region crossing several districts. In total, the race will have more than 850 km of varied tracks where the participants will find dirt, sand, gravel roads making from this a very demanding challenge for the participants and a very interesting race to follow for the fans.

Oleg Bakhteev, sports commissioner said: "The participants will find a fairly diverse race, with many changes in elevation, turns of all types, and even long straight roads with ninety degrees turns at the end, ascents, descents and with a relatively long forest section with various terrains. For T4 (trucks), the road was not specially prepared."

Evgeny Bataev, Commissioner for the route:  "The route as a lot of straight roads. This is a feature of the region. We included as much winding three-dimensional tracks as possible, as they are more interesting for rally raids, but unfortunately, there are not so many of them. The abundance of forks, junctions and complex junctions will not let the navigators rest."

The 3rd stage of the Russian Rally Championship will bring together some of the strongest Russian teams, including the factory ones - KAMAZ-master and GAZ RAID SPORT.
The legendary KAMAZ-master team will take part in three crews consisting of:  Nikolaev Eduard / Yakovlev Evgeny / Karimov Bogdan; Karginov Andrey / Mokeev Andrey / Leonov Igor; Shibalov Anton / Nikitin Dmitry / Tatarinov Ivan.  Kamaz Master won first and second places in the Dakar Rally. And in July they conquered the three first places in the Silk Way rally.

The race started yesterday with a short 3,5km Prologue. Today the program featured 2 sectors, SS2 with 186 and SS3 with 139. Tomorrow, Saturday will be the final day of the race, with the participants facing the same stages but in the opposite order, passing first by the 139km sector and finishing the race with a run on the 186km long sector.
