The baja “Russia – Northern Forest” participants completed the Prologue – qualification special stage, the results of which will determine the starting order for the Saturday leg. The Prologue length was only three and a half kilometers, but the difficult route forced many participants to make mistakes – even the main race favorites were unable to pass it faultlessly.

Vladimir Vasilyev, who started first, hooked on the parapet and was forced to drive back. Despite this, the Russian driver set the best time, five seconds ahead of his closest rival – Andrey N., who had the second result. Denis Krotov was the third.

The fourth result – and this is the main surprise of the Prologue – was shown by Vasily Gryazin, who made his debut in cross-country rally. He got used to driving a T3 class all-terrain vehicle quickly and ended up in the group of leaders.

Tapio Lauronen, last year’s winner of the baja “Russia – Northern Forest”, finished only sixth. His Mitsubishi went off the track in one of the segments of the distance, and the Finnish driver had to spend precious seconds to get back.
