Baja Trans Andalusia 2020 will be part of the new Rally of Andalusia

The 2020 edition of Baja Trans Andalusia was announced as part of Rally of Andalusia, the new race organized by David Castera as a "substitute" for Rally du Maroc, which was recently postponed.

Organized by RS Sport, Baja Trans Andalusia was originally scheduled for 5 to 6 of September, with a total distance of over 500km raced in Algamitas and neighbor Municipalities, Southeast of Sevilla.   This is a race open to Moto, Quad, SSV (SxS), Auto and Trucks.  There are also some special categories that allow some Non-FIA vehicles to take part in the race, like some vehicles that we often see in Trial 4x4 competitions like the Iberian Challenge Super Extreme Trial 4x4.

The news about David Castera's new race originated some rumors that Baja Trans Andalusia was in danger and that could not even take place this year.  Fortunately, today the organizers revealed that not only Baja Trans Andalusia will take place, but it will also be part of the new rally, with the local teams now sharing the same race track as the international competitors.   This means quite an upgrade for the race, that will now share a world-class infrastructure that will greatly improve the race by all means.    As for Rally of Andalusia will take advantage of all the work previously done, including the roadbook and reconnaissance of the track, and all the previous work made to prepare the race.

For the moment is not yet know where Rally of Andalusia will have its HQ, but as for Baja Trans Andalusia, it will be in the small town of Algamitas, 100 km southeast of Sevilla, in a mountainous area close Sierra del Tablón.   

Rally de Andalusia will take place from 5 to 10 of October,  but Baja Trans Andalusia will only that place on the last two days of the international race, 9 and 10 of October.
