The 2020 season will bring several changes to the Portuguese cross-country rally championship, including new dates and new events.  One of the new events will be Baja TT ACP - Santiago / Grandola organized by ACP - Automovel Club de Portugal,  the same organizer of the world-famous Baja Portalegre.
Scheduled for 6 to 8 of March in Santiago do Cacem and Grandola in the southern half of the country, in a region close to the Atlantic ocean.

Valid for the Portuguese Cross-Country Rally Championship (only for cars), the new Portuguese Baja will cross the municipalities of Santiago do Cacem and Grandola, including a few kilometers in the neighbor Sines municipality.  This is the same region wherein 2007 the first stage of the Dakar Rally took place.

In total the race will have more than 300kms split by five special stages, starting in Grandola on March 7 with the prologue and two stages, and finishing in Santiago do Cacem on March 8 with the two remaining stages and the podium ceremony.

Baja TT ACP - Santiago/Grandola 2020 will introduce a rare element in the Portuguese championship, which is sand.  Despite having an extremely competitive championship in most of the categories, in Portugal, very few km of racing are disputed in sandy tracks. ACP's new race will bring back this element and take cross-country rallying to an area in the country that is full of potential for great races.

The race is also open for the motorbikes, quads, and SSV but as an extra-event and not valid for the 2020 championship of these three categories.
