Baja TT ACP 2022: 84 teams ready for the 2022 Baja TT ACP

55 Autos, 19 SSV's, 10 Motos ready for the sand challenge of Portuguese season.

The Portuguese Cross-Country Rally Championship (FPAK) will continue next weekend near the Atlantic ocean shore, in the area of Santiago do Cacém, Sines, and Grandola, where the Baja TT ACP will take place. This is only the second time this race will take place, but some of our readers will remember this area as it was here that the 1st stage of 2007 Dakar took place.
The Portuguese championship is well known for its challenging and interesting races in a variety of different terrains, but it was missing an element: Sand. Baja TT ACP introduced this element back in 2020 and brought back this type of terrain this year.
For this year, the organizers made another change, making the race more focused on navigation. To support this decision, most of the signals, arrows, and plastic tapes that are used to mark the roads with precision will not be used and the participants must instead follow the roadbook with more attention to find the right track.
As for participants, in total there are 84 teams listed to enter this race, including a strong 55 cars entry list full of fast drivers and top-level cars including several Toyota Hilux, Mini All-4 Racing, Ford Rangers, and many more. As for the SSV and Motos that enter the race under the Motorbike Federation, the list is significantly shorter than usual because this race is not valid for the Cross-Country Rally Championship ( The competition that includes the Portuguese Bajas, focused on pure speed and marked roads) but is instead valid for the Rally-Raid Championship (a competition focused in navigation, raced with roadbook on roads without any kind of direction signs). There are only 19 SSV and 11 Motos listed.
The emotions of the BP Ultimate Baja TT ACP 2022 start on March 18th (Friday), at 6 pm, with the Official Start Ceremony, in Grândola.
On March 19 (Saturday), the first stage will take place, with the Prologue (7 km) in the area of Santiago do Cacém and the first Selective Sector (SS1 - Santiago/Sines/Grândola), over 90 km, while for Sunday is scheduled the last competitive stage, with the dispute of the second Selective Sector (SS2 - Grândola/Alcácer), over 170 km.
