Exciting program for the competition from Alentejo

About a month before the Baja TT Capital dos Vinhos de Portugal, which will be held in Reguengos de Monsaraz between October 1st and 3rd, the Motor Section of Sociedade Artística Reguenguense, the race organizer club, has already released the program for the 33rd edition of this renowned cross-country Baja in the Portuguese Alentejo region.

The teams of the Portuguese Cross-Country Rally Championship/AM 48 (cars) and the National Cross-Country Championship (motos, quads and SSV) will face another round of this 2021 season, the third for cars and the fourth for motorcycles, quads and SSV,  to meet the goals set for thee 2021 sports season, specially intended to bring back t top level the rally-raid competitions after the very atypical year of 2020 marked by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Baja TT Capital dos Vinhos de Portugal has a very interesting program. Besides the FPAK and FMP Championships, it will also score points for the Portuguese TT Cup, the Iberian TT Cup, the FIM Europe Championship and the Terras do Grande Lago Alqueva Trophy. Additionally, it will be a candidate for the FIA Bajas European Cup.

Entries for cars have been open since August 2, and for motorcycles, quads, and SSVs opened on the 30th, closing on September 27.

The race will have a program structure adapted to the rules imposed by the Health authorities to keep everybody safe from the Pandemic. However, this year the competition returns to its usual molds and the prologue will be held on Friday, October 1st, after the technical and administrative checks that will start at 8 am. On Saturday, the cars will race two selective sectors, while motorcycles, quads, and SSVs will compete in only one special.

For Sunday only one selective sector is scheduled to be raced by all categories and in the afternoon the usual awards ceremony should take place, which this year adds some new prizes since besides the usual trophies, the winners of the general classifications will also receive vouchers with stays in some local hotels.

Like the previous edition, this year the Baja TT Capital dos Vinhos de Portugal will have a solidary component. Thus, part of the value of the entries will go to the purchase of an ambulance-type vehicle for the Firemen Corps of Reguengos de Monsaraz, thus continuing the solidarity character that this race intends to assume.

The presentation of the 33rd edition of the race will take place on Saturday, September 11, 18:00 in Lisbon
