Double podium for the telecommunications brand with a first and a third place in the T1N category.

Avatel Racing Team rider Christine Giampaoli (Christine GZ) has won the first race of the Spanish Championship, the Baja TT Dehesa Extremadura, in the T1N category, together with co-driver Rosa Romero. In this competition, the telecommunications brand has made a double and has also achieved third place with Pablo Cantó and Jorge Gómez.

Giampaoli thus achieved his first victory since he returned from the United States last September when he signed with Avatel. "I am very happy with the result we have achieved. It was a race with a very technical and hard course, with a lot of heat. It was key to hydrate ourselves," she said.

Christine GZ has highlighted the good understanding in the cockpit with her 'copi', Rosa Romero, which has been the "key" to achieve this result. The tandem has maintained the head of the competition despite a technical incident in the last part of the race, in which they lost the vehicle's power steering.

"In the end, we were able to maintain the first position," he points out.

For her part, Rosa Romero emphasized that the navigation in a 'baja' "is very different from the Dakar, where there is more time between indications, here you only have a few seconds, 'sing' fast and be very careful not to get lost. I liked it a lot. I have to congratulate the organization because the roadbook is very well done and the dangers are perfectly marked".

The third place on the podium went to Pablo Cantó and Jorge Gómez, who had to adapt quickly to a new car.

"We have gone from less to more, in the Prologue we have been getting to know the car, having a good feeling. And already in the first stage, we picked up the pace and began to cut distances. In the end, we got the podium. We are very satisfied".

In addition, the Avatel Racing Team has fourth place: Willy Villanueva and Borja Aguado in the T1N category. Meanwhile, Monica Plaza and David Nadal in the T2 category have made a good fifth place, demonstrating their full potential.

Plaza stressed that they have executed the strategy of "finishing the Baja TT Dehesa Extremadura. I have felt more and more comfortable at the wheel, I have had a very good feeling with the car, with the team and the technical team of Jaton Racing has done a great job. We are very happy for the opportunity that Avatel has given us and for the result".

The Baja TT Dehesa Extremadura has also been the scene of the competition debut of the first electric car that has participated in a conventional rally, Avatel EcoPower. In this event of the Spanish TT Rally Championship

"it has been demonstrated that an electric car can make good times and be there", says one of its designers and co-driver Edu Blanco.

A technical incident meant that they had to abandon, although leaving good expectations for the next competitions.
