The Portuguese rider has been awarded the victory among the competitors in the motorcycle category; the duo from Leon has done the same among the cars, climbing to the top at the end of the last special stage, in an exciting outcome that has been the culmination of a memorable edition of the event with international aura organized by MCV Motorsport.
The Baja TT Dehesa Extremadura has successfully completed its fifth edition, the first one as the inaugural event of the CERTT (Spanish Cross-Country Rallies Championship), and, at the same time, candidate for the FIA European Cup for Cross-Country Bajas, leaving an unbeatable taste in the mouth of the more than fifty teams that have enjoyed throughout the weekend the benefits offered by the province of Badajoz. A privileged environment for the practice of the sport and the celebration of a unique automotive event at a regional level as the one that the MCV Motorsport members have made real again.
Mario Patrão, winner of Friday's motorcycle prologue, and also leader at the end of the following day, completed Sunday's route as the fourth classified, behind Javier Vega (the fastest, as in two of Saturday's special stages ), Albert Martín, and Tiago Alexandre. A result that was enough for the Portuguese rider to win the race, ahead of his Husqvarna teammate - who managed to overcome an injury and finish the race - and the Yamaha rider from Madrid.
Meanwhile, Rubén Saldaña and Tiago Alexandre completed the top five places in the Extremadura event, once again valid for the FIM European Baja Championship.
Among the cars, despite the balance between teams that have remained almost until the end, the last kilometers of the race caused significant changes in the final classification of the V Baja TT Dehesa Extremadura. André Amaral and Nelson Ramos, leaders at the start of the final day, as the result of the two special stages disputed during the previous day (the third one was neutralized after the motorcycles had passed), suffered a puncture that has removed them from the fight for the victory, leaving the path free for Félix Macías and José Luis Conde, winners for the first time in a race of these characteristics, racing a Toyota Hilux.
The duo from Castilla y León completed the final special stage in third place, behind José Henrique Dinis Alvo / Henrique Damasio and Paulo Rui Ferreira/Jorge Monteiro. Santiago Navarro and Sergi Brugué climbed up to the third step of the podium with a Maverick X3, immediately behind the Ford Ranger driven by André Amaral and Nelson Ramos, who finished second.
The Portuguese Joao Ferreira and Joao Serodio and the winners of Sunday's special stage closed the top five of the V Baja TT Dehesa Extremadura.
This was an edition to remember, with start and finish in the picturesque Plaza Alta of Badajoz, strengthening the international projection of the race organized by MCV Motorsport, whose sights are already set for 2022 in the calendar of the new FIA European Cup of Cross-Country Lowland Cross-Country.
