Return to competition after a long period 
Race with very special meaning for the driver

The Rally-Raid Network partners Nuno Matos and Pedro Marcão will be back racing once again on their FIAT Fullback Proto next weekend, at Baja TT Idanha-a-Nova. This is a long-awaited test by the team: “Since May, in Reguengos, we have not competed, so we miss it naturally,” began by confessing Nuno Matos.
The Portuguese event marks the return of the local championship, a race very special and full of excellent memories for Matos: “It was at Baja TT Idanha-a-Nova that I won my first race (overall). Fortunately, since then I've relished the triumph several times, but obviously, I would like to repeat it this year."
There will be more than 300 kilometers racing against the clock, and a very demanding event will is expected: "We will have two long Selective Sectors, 160 kilometers each, which will require good management, both ours and the machine, which can make a difference. This is a Baja that I like a lot, with sections that combine fast zones with winding lines. The initial miles will be readjustment, to get back on track, and then anything can happen."
In this context, the equation always goes through the discussion of the top places: "Obviously mathematics tells us that we are still fighting for the title, but we do not depend solely on ourselves. So, with a more realistic look, let's look at the two missing races to achieve the best results without really thinking about the championship accounts. But of course you never know," said the 2016 Portuguese champion.
