Baja TT Montes Alentejanos 2021: Nuno Matos confirms his presence in Baja TT Montes Alentejanos

Portuguese driver celebrates 25 years of career
BP Ultimate and Castrol join the project

Nuno Matos will be at the start of Baja TT Montes Alentejanos, the opening race of the 2021 Portugal Cross-Country Championship, which takes place on May 15th and 16th. An event that marks the beginning of a sportive season with a very special meaning for the pilot, who celebrates 25 years of career.

"It is an event that brings me a joy that is difficult to put into words. A course that I am proud of, but that, at the same time, is not mine alone. It belongs to all the incredible people I have been lucky enough to have by my side: family, sponsors, team, friends, and fans. They all had an essential contribution to get me this far and I am very grateful to them", said the driver.

In the season that now begins, Nuno Matos will continue to be navigated by Joel Lutas in the FIAT Fullback Proto, a car that this season comes with a great novelty, the colors of bp Ultimate and Castrol:

"It's very good, but also a responsibility, to be able to count on the support and trust of these two great brands, as well as all the sponsors that have been with me for a long time, thank you all," stressed the 2016 national champion.

The opening race of the championship, held in the Beja region, is the beginning of a year of celebration:

"I really enjoyed this baja last season and so we will be there again. This year we close a cycle with our car and the idea is to do some races of the national championship, with the objective of celebrating my 25 years in the TT. However, given the situation we live today, we will evaluate each participation race by race", commented Nuno Matos, who adds: "For now, the focus is to be one hundred percent next weekend. We did a short test, but we hadn't driven since the last Baja Portalegre 500, so the real adaptation to the competition rhythm will be done on the stopwatch."

Baja TT Montes Alentejanos starts Saturday, May 15th, with a 6-kilometer Prologue and two 81-kilometer Selective Sectors, which will be repeated on Sunday, May 16th, the last day of the season's opening event.
