53 motorcycles, 14 quads, 76 SSV, and 49 cars animate the opening race of the season
A few hours before the start of the Baja TT Montes Alentejanos, competition organized by CPKA - Club for the Promotion of Karting and Automobilism, everything is ready for the beginning of the competition that counts with a total of 192 competitors enrolled in the various categories. In cars, there will be 49 enrolled in the SSV, 76 competitors, 53 on motorcycles, and 14 in the Quad.
With this excellent panel of participants the Baixo Alentejo race, which will have the honors of being the opening race of the Road to Dakar National Cross-Country Championship disputed under the aegis of the FMP as well as the FPAK Cross-Country Portugal Championship and the Cross-Country Portugal Cup, promises to be very well disputed.
The biggest adhesion was once more on the SSV side and the presence of the champion João Dias, Luís Cidade, João Monteiro, Pedro Carvalho, Pedro Santinho Mendes, Vítor Santos among others is confirmed.
In the motorcycles, the Baja TT Montes Alentejanos will also count with the participation of the national champion António Maio who will have in Mário Patrão, Bruno Santos, and David Megre some of his main opponents. Among the Quads, the participation of Luis Fernandes and Fábio Ferreira stands out, being worth mentioning the absence of the champion Luís Engeitado.
In the cars where the champion is also absent, the main candidates to victory will be João Ramos, Tiago Reis, Alejandro Martins, Helder Oliveira, Nuno Matos, André Amaral, Pedro Dias da Silva and Nuno Madeira.
For Humberto Silva, President of the Karting and Automobilism Promotion Club, this list of entrants meets the ambition of the organization when preparing this race that intends, once again, to exceed the expectations of the participants:
"we want to organize in Baixo Alentejo a competition that shows the best that is done in this region. From the beautiful landscapes to the excellent tracks ideal for the practice of off-road sports, we have all the conditions in place to make this an excellent race that will please everyone. This year we will have some constraints due to the pandemic caused by Covid-19, but above all, we want to promote the safety of all and comply with the letter all the rules imposed by DGS, "said the President of the CPKA.
Beja, Serpa, and Mértola will be the municipalities that will host this interesting race that despite being recent already gathers a huge sympathy among the pilots and teams participating. The Baja TT Montes Alentejanos will have again its base in Beja, in the "Parque de Feiras e Exposições".
