Nuno Matos prepares his participation in the 2022 full season of the Portuguese Cross-Country Championship. A season in which the driver will team up again with the navigator Joel Lutas and in which the return to the Opel Mokka Proto, the car with which he became national champion in 2016, is a novelty.

"I am quite pleased to be back behind the wheel of a model that brings great memories to the whole team and the fans. It is a car that we know very well, very reliable, and that we believe is the ideal option for next season", said the driver.

The competition starts next February 18th to 20th with the Baja TT Montes Alentejanos. A challenge that contemplates 308.80 chronometrical kilometers, divided by a Prologue and two Selective Sectors. "It's the event that marks the beginning of the season. An event with fast sections that we see as a test in competition environment with the Opel Mokka Proto, a car we haven't driven for a long time", recalled Nuno Matos, who added: "We set out with the will to have fun and enjoy ourselves to the maximum, since at this stage it's not possible to have any reference to the pace".

The race marks the start of a sports calendar that includes the Bp Ultimate Baja TT ACP, in March, Baja Oeste de Portugal and Baja e Loulé, in May, Baja TT Sharish Reguengos de Monsaraz, in September, and Baja TT Norte de Portugal and Baja Portalegre 500, in October. "This is the year with more races in the recent past of the CPTT and I want to leave a special thanks to all our sponsors for the support to our project. I also take this opportunity to invite all the fans to be present at the opening race of the championship, for a start to the season at the best level."
