Baja TT Vindimas do Alentejo 2019: Government decision forces cancellation on the last minute

Portugal is experiencing what should be one of the worst week ever for Motorsports organization, with multiple events being canceled, and the very last victim was Baja TT Vindimas do Alentejo that was to be raced this weekend. 

Portugal's Government decided ro raise the country "fire risk warning" to "Red alert" status due to the very high risk of forest and wild fires.  This situation means that most of the Portuguese civil protection forces must be 100% ready to enter in action in case of need.   Behind the Portuguese government decision that ultimately forced multiple events to be cancelled is the extremely dry weather that is affecting Portugal and that is causing forest fires to be much more intense and hard to fight in many parts of the country. The situation is a bit more complicated because the Iberian country is in shortage of rain for several months.

 Due to this decision the firemen, paramedics and other security agents that should be present at Baja TT Vindimas do Alentejo to make sure total safety of the race aren't available, leaving the race with no chance to continue at the scheduled date.

The decision affects all the country from top to bottom, despite the huge differences in terrain and forest type, with no comparison possible regarding the risk of fire between regions, much more complicated on the north, than  on the south where the race was to take place, but even so, the blind decision of the government stopped this event that was already undergoing.   All the local entities did all in their reach to prove that the conditions weren't so severe and that there was no reason to cancel the race but whithout sucess.

The organizer assumes that it as everything ready to go as soon as possible in one of the next weekends. But it's uncertain when the weather will change, so it's not sure now when the race can resume.  Also  two important events are approaching - Baja TT Idanha-a-Nova and Baja Portalegre, leaving almost no room for participants to enter all the events.
