The racing engines will roar again on the southern Alentejo in Portugal from 6 to 8 of September when the participants 1st ever edition of Baja TT Vindimas do Alentejo start on this new challenge.  This is a part of Portugal that is no stranger to cross-country rallies, but didn't received any event in the last years, but now Baja TT Vindimas do Alentejo will bring back the sport to this region, crossing the municipalities of Beja, Aljustrel, Castro Verde and Mértola on what is expected to be a very competitive race.

For the cars, 2019 edition can be considered like the "year zero" for this race, as it will be raced extra-championships and will have the "Candidate Status", aspiring to be part of 2020 Cross-Country Rallies Championships.  As for the motorbikes, quads and SSV the race is still not valid for the championships, but it is valid for the Cross-Country Rallies Cup, giving it an extra motive of interest.   After Baja TT Douro Verde cancellation, a relatively large number of teams still showed the desire for Baja TT Vindimas do Alentejo to enter the championships already this year, but with 2019 regulations in place and the season half way, no changes were made and this new race kept the status of candidate.

Since the dates chosen have no other races close neither before or after, and due to the extra-long summer pause in the championships caused by the cancellation of the previous race like we told, many are the teams already listed to enter in the CPKA - Clube Promoção Karting e Automobilismo, specially in cars and SSV.  A few days ago already 47 SSV have made their inscription into this race, including most of the Portuguese front-runners and the 2018 Dakar winner Reinaldo Varela.   In the cars the list is also very interesting and keeps getting larger day by day, with around 30 participants already confirmed, where are the main Portuguese championship title contenders, but also some of the fastest Spanish teams.

The race Headquarters will be located on Beja city.  The first day is reserved for the normal pre-race events. The Motos, Quads and SSVs will have a total distance of 300km to cover including 3 stages, two on saturday - SSS with near 10km, SS1 with 157 and just one on Sunday - the final SS (SS2) with around 80km.  The cars will have a slightly longer competition, with 350km in  total including the SSS with 10km, SS1 with 157 and SS2 with 145. The remaining distances will be made in liasons.
