Baja Vermentino 2021: 34 teams aligned for the second round of the Italian Championship

34 crews who will battle on Saturday 10 April. 
Friday 9 will be dedicated to scrutineering and technical checks

By now everything is ready for the second round of the Italian Cross Country Rally and SSV 2021 Championship. This time it will be Sardinia to do the honors in the event organized by Rassina by Racing. The route will be divided between Berchidda and Calangianus with a total race distance of 235 km and approximately 139 km of special stages. Four selective sectors will give life to exciting challenges among the dusty dirt roads of Gallura.
 
Group T1 will include Sergio Galletti and Daniele Fontana Sacchetti in Toyota Hilux Overdrive, who won the first round of the championship at the Italian Baja at the end of March. Lorenzo Codecà, already winner of the first edition of the Baja Vermentino in 2018, will also fight hard for the points of the Italian championship, together with is co-driver Mauro Toffoli on an official Suzuki Gran Vitara. Also protagonists will be Alessandro Bertuzzi and Alberto Marcon on BMW M6, Andrea Castagnera and Denis Dorigo on Nissan Navarra and Andrea Schiumarini (on Mitsubishi Pajero WRC +) who will have at his side Enrico Gaspari, who already was his navigator at the Dakar 2020. The locals will be represented by the Sardinian pairing composed of Giulio Pes di San Vittorio and Marco Pala. The other Sardinian crew is the one made up of Davide Catania and Fabio Salis.

The challenge for the Side by Side championship is also very interesting. Classification leader Amerigo Ventura on his Yamaha YXZ1000R will have to pay a lot of attention to the former Spanish motorcyclist Carlos Checa on the Rotax Can-AM Maverick X3. Together with Laro also Franco Picco, fresh from Dakar and after his debut at the Italian Baja at the wheel of the Polaris RZR Turbo. Elvis Borsoi will also have something to say about the best positions, trying to recover from the problems in the Friulian race.

For the T2 category, the Island Motorsport crew formed by the Tuscan Andrea Lucchini and Piero Bosco, winners of the Italian Baja, will come from as championship leader. Ready to do battle will be Alfio Bordonaro, reigning champion navigated by Marcello Bono, Andrea Alfano and Stefano Rossi, Marco Cantarello and Francesco Facile and his cousins ​​Trivini Bellini.
For the TH group the protagonists will be Franco Antonio Buda and Sandra Castellani, Samuele Lelli and Gilberto Mene, Ricky Rickler and Maurizio Dominella.
