Iberian Challenge Super Extreme Trial 4x4 returns to Couço (Portugal) for a legendary edition.

After a 2 year stop, the Iberian Challenge Super Extreme Trial 4x4 (CISET 4x4) has returned to action and will once again return to Couço, Portugal for the largest 4x4 Offroad event in the Iberian Península, taking place on the 9th and 10th of July.

The Portugues race is already know for being the largest event of its kind in the Península and for the "Party" feel, making from this event so much more than a just and off-road race and more like a huge reunion of friends with the common love for 4x4 and for the sport.

CISET Couço takes place in a very unique location, in the exact place where the rivers Sor and Raia join to give birth to the larger Sorraia river. The calm waters and the large areas of sand make the perfect setting for a very unique race, where the participants have to face several water crossings, soft sand, mud, and some demading artificial obstacles that the organizers "kindly" spread in a higher area right next to the rivers.

The event lasts for two days, with the first being dedicated to the "formalities" and to a prologue, that servers the double purpose of align the participants for sunday's main event and also as an introduction to the river, wich changes from year to year. On the second day all categories will have to face the river and the aparently gentle waters for a two hour race.

A few years ago, the organizers introduced a new challenge named CISET MASTERS as an extra-event, created specially for the higher cateogories Proto and Super Proto. The new race format doubled the time of the main race from two to four hours of racing, allowing for the participants to cross the rivers dozens of times. This longest version was a sucess right on the first edition, and even being optional, almos all teams acepted the challenge and entered it.
For 2022, the "Masters" will return, again with four hours for the Proto Category. Meanwhile, for the "big boys" of the Super Proto category, the Masters will now become MASTERS XL and inestad of four hours, the race will last for six hours. This will be one of the longest, if not the longest race for this type of sport ever raced in Iberia, testing men and machines to the limit and set a new standard for the competition. As a reward, the winners will get the chance to have free entries in all races of the 2023 season.
