Nani Roma, happy with the victory of his teammate Loeb in the Baja Aragón

A puncture and brake problems kept him away from the top positions in the first special stage of the rally in Teruel.

Joan 'Nani' Roma has finished the first special stage of the Baja Aragón with a bittersweet taste. On the one hand, the Catalan driver was

"Happy to be back in the race, to feel again the sensation of competing and, above all, to resume the work with Álex (Haro)"; but on the other hand, he acknowledged that "we would be happier if the result today had been a little better, but things come as they come".

The Prodrive BRX Team driver acknowledged that he had started

"Very well, with a very good pace, but for various reasons (puncture and brake problems) we lost a little time at the end". At the finish, he stopped the stopwatch 2:15s behind his teammate Sebastien Loeb, after the 180 km of the special stage.

"We have learned from the car and we are happy for Seb's victory and for the team. It is the first special stage win for this car. We proved to be competitive, ahead of Toyota and very fast people. Like Nasser. It's something to be happy about"

"Tomorrow we have another day ahead of us, which will be longer and harder, and I hope everything goes better for us", concludes Nani, who now leads the provisional classification of the Spanish TT-Avatel Rally Championship, ahead of Tiago Reis and Valter Cardoso, 34" behind the Catalan's BRX.

The third position is for Joao Ramos and Filipe Palmeiro.
