Portuguese Federation announces futures changes in championship calendar due to COVID Pandemic

Just a few days ago, the Portuguese Federation made an announcement about the calendar for the 2021 Portuguese Cross-Country Rallies Championship:

"With the worsening of the pandemic crisis, the schedule initially planned for the Portugal Off-Road Championship will change, and for the moment, FPAK confirms that it will consist of seven events, as mentioned before.

Thus, the dates on which the events will take place will be announced in due course.

The 2021 Iberian Off-Road Cup, run in partnership with REFDA - Real Federacion Española de Automovilismo will once again be a reality and will consist of four events, two in Spain: Baja Dehesa Extremadura and VII Rallye TT de Cuenca and two in Portugal: Baja de Loulé and Baja TT Capital of Wines of Portugal.

The Terras do Grande Lago Alqueva Trophy will resume its edition in 2021 with Baja Dehesa Extremadura and Baja Capital of Wines of Portugal."

Although this announcement is only for the car competition, it will also impact the motorbike, quad, and SSV competition held by FMP - Federação de Motociclismo de Portugal, as several races are common to both competitions.   Until now 2 races were already postponed, Raid Paraiso TT Gois, valid for motos, quads and SSV, and Baja TT Montes Alentejanos, valid for all categories, including cars.

We at Rally-Raid Network are waiting for official informations and details regarding the 1st Edition of Portugal Rally, scheduled for 8 to 13 of April.   Until the moment there is no information about any possible change in dates and we are aware that organizers are actively working on the race.
