At the same time was announced the 4th edition of the Reguengos de Monsaraz / Mafra TT Raid (an offroad touring event), which for the fourth year will go through the trails that connect these two territories.
Unveiling the news, Ricardo Sousa will be again accompanied by Luis Marques and will move to a new level in his career, with the new Peugeot 208 Rally4, to dispute the Peugeot Rally Cup Iberian and also the national two-wheel drive, as stated by the young driver from Prolama,
"It's the logical step in my evolution in rallying. We closed 2020 at a good level with the Junior national title and the Vice-championship 2-wheel drive, and now we will work on adapting to the new car. We know that the competition is very strong and that everyone has already one year of experience with the new Peugeot 208 Raly4, but we are ready to accept the challenge and fight to be at a good level?" concluded Ricardo Sousa, thanking the sponsors and technical team for their support.
In what concerns to cross-country rallying, the team continues with the official ISUZU project for Georgino Pedroso / Carlos Silva, who will try to revalidate the title that was taken away last year, as Georgino Pedroso said;
"It's a huge responsibility to continue to defend the Isuzu brand, but we will return to the T2 championship to demonstrate all the robustness and reliability of the Isuzu D-Max. We are motivated to defend our sponsors and fight until the end to revalidate the national title. I want to thank the team for all the support and work they have given throughout this time, and I welcome the arrival of new partners to the project ..." he concluded
Francisco Barreto will start an international project, and at the controls of Team Barata Hotels' Nissan Navara V6, he will compete in the Iberian Cup with Carlos Silva. The driver from Albufeira tested a new version of his Nissan and found significant improvements, which fuels his desire to fight for a prominent place in this competition;
"We will start an international project and I'm very motivated for this new challenge. Prolama's work in the development of the car is remarkable and I believe we will be more competitive. I also want to take advantage of Carlos' knowledge in international races to be among the first in the Iberian Cup. I want to thank all the support from our sponsors because without them it wouldn't be possible to build this project." concluded Francisco Barreto
Júlio Mourão with Jorge Amaral will compete in the Lago Alqueva Trophy, composed by Baja Estremadura in Spain and Baja Capital dos Vinhos de Portugal in Reguengos, leaving still in the air the possibility to participate in Beja or Baja de Portalegre, one of the driver's objectives;
"We have an interesting program to compete with the Megane Proto, and the Lago Alqueva Trophy fits very well in our plan. The car is fantastic and we will try to participate in Beja and Portalegre..." concluded the driver
Fernando Barreiros with the Isuzu D-Max T2, will have Sergio Cerveira in the right seat to dictate notes and will repeat the Iberian Cup T2, adding the Spanish national championship. This will be the Daylight pilot's plan to prepare for the Africa Race 2022.
"We are preparing everything in view of the Africa Race 2022, but we don't take our eyes off the renewal of the Iberian title, and by the interest of our sponsors I will also be in the Spanish championship. My plan for total physical recovery continues on schedule and we will be at the start of the first race in Spain next month at Baja Mar d' Olivos..." he concluded
PROLAMA, closed its presentation with a period of work, with the presence of the whole technical team working on the final adjustments of the team's five cars. If the pandemic conditions allow it, Prolama has all the conditions to compete on all fronts at a high level.
