Rally TT Villa de Zuera 2019: Alvarez wins the race while Pita claims 2019 Spanish title

The Spanish Cross-Country Rally Championship finally reached the end after a spectacular 2019 edition of Rally TT Villa de Zuera where Fernando Alvarez/Juan Pablo Monasterolo clearly dominated in the car category.  In Buggies (SSV) Vicente Olmos/Julian Angel Villarubia also had absolute control of the race.

Rally TT Villa de Zuera was the stage for the Spanish title decision between Fernando Alvarez (VW Amarok) and Javier Pita (Ford Ranger).  Alvarez was always on the lead, winning all stages. On the first day, the VW Amarok driver won the Prologue while his main rival finished third, some 39 seconds behind.  In second and in the position of interested spectator finished Miguel Ángel Urkiola only 28 seconds behind the winner.

In today's race, the fight was hard as expected. Fernando Alvarez did all he could to win the race and score the most points possible for the championship, finishing first on SS2 and SS3 and consequently winning Rally TT Villa de Zuera 2019.  But if the Argentinian did a perfect race, Javier Pita and his Ford was the perfect shadow, finishing both stages in second, letting Alvarez take all risks while following behind at more a safe rhythm . In the end, 8m43s split both drivers, with Alvarez in 1st and Pita in 2nd.  Francisco Sánchez - Pita's teammate, also racing a Ford Ranger finished third after getting the same result on today's two stages.
Despite all the efforts of Fernando Alvarez, the championship mathematics dictated the 2019 Spanish Champions was to be Javier Pita, since the points scored with the second place were enough to end finish the season ahead of the Argentinian.

In the Buggies race (SSV non T3) Vicente Olmos in Can-Am Maverick was simply on a leag of his own, winning all stages and finishing the race with 13m advantage over the second-placed Santiago Carnicer that was also racing in Can-Am. Enrique Reyes finished third, also him racing a Can-Am Maverick and making a "perfect podium" for the Canadian maker.
