RALLYE TT DE CUENCA 2020: THE FIRST RACE OF THE 2020 SPANISH CROSS-COUNTRY RALLIES CHAMPIONSHIP IS ALMOST READY TO START

With about 500 kilometers, 50 percent of the route will be unprecedented and complex for both drivers and co-drivers

The Cuenca Motor 4x4 Club, with a titanic effort, launches the VI Rally TT Cuenca, making from the city of Cuenca the scene of the inauguration of the 2020 Spanish Cross-Country Rally Championship.
The more than 200 people who make up the organization of the race led by Víctor Alijas, have been working for months so that one of the races most valued by drivers, teams, and fans, runs through the excellent lands of Cuenca.
The effort of Cuenca Motor 4x4 Club has resulted in a new and unknown route since more than fifty percent of the sections will be completely new and never used before this complicated 2020 edition.
Also, the philosophy of the Spanish Championship race focuses on returning to the off-road spirit and valuing the skills of the driver and co-driver. The sections will be of expertise in driving, so the selective sectors of pure speed are reduced.
This VI Edition of Cuenca Cross-Country Rally is loaded with news since, in addition to cars, the national test will include buggies, quads, and motorcycles. In this sense, the person in charge will be Virginia Gómez, vice president of Cuenca Motor 4x4, and the first Spanish with responsibility in the Dakar, the toughest rally in the world.
Virginia Gómez, a mechanical industrial engineer, was the first woman to preside over the motorcycle and quad jury, hand in hand with Marc Coma, at the Dakar rally. In addition, for four years, she has carried out the work of assistant and right-hand man of the international pilot Laia Sanz in the relentless editions of the Dakar.
Rally TT Cuenca 2020 will begin on October 23 with the Technical and Administrative Checks. On the 24th, the Prologue stage will be held, and later the 245-kilometer sector will begin that will revolve around the most beautiful landscapes of the 19 Cuenca towns. On Sunday 25 the Rally will be completed with another 245 kilometers on the same sections of the previous day. And of course, the race will run through the impressive city of Cuenca, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
In these days prior to the premiere of the Spanish Championship, the Cuenca Motor 4x4 team is finalizing the safety fringes against Covid 19, both for the teams and for fans of this motorsport discipline. Once again, the Community of Castilla La Mancha, the Provincial Council, and the Cuenca City Council, will value the city as one of the most important showcases for the motor, sports, and tourism industries in our country.
