The Sevilla Rallye Raid 2022, the race that should be the final one of the 2022 Spanish Championship was canceled just a few days before the start. Apparently, the difficulties of the organization in securing a communication system to give support to the race were the cause of this final-minute decision.
The organizers said in their official release:
"Dear participants, officials, spectators, and media.
We hereby confirm the suspension of the Sevilla Rally Raids, an official event of the Spanish Cross-Country Rally Championship, which should be held next November 4th and 5th.
Insurmountable issues, which directly affected the organization of the event, and therefore the safety of the same, have caused this unfortunate end.
We are sorry for the damage that may have been caused to all those who compose and compose this great family.
Until the last minute, we tried with all our effort.
