Six Day Baja Rally 2022: Countdown Begins

SAN QUINTIN, BAJA CALIFORNIA, MEXICO-Competitors, team managers and operations staff have begun their 4-week countdown to the long awaited Six Day BAJA RALLY October 2-8.

There are at least two "surprise entrants" participating in their first rally raid competition whose names cannot be divulged at this time but organizers and sponsors believe the motorsports world will pay close attention to them when they are.

Weather can always be a factor in the lead up to each year's edition of BAJA RALLY since debuting in 2013. Hurricane season has left it's mark on at least 2 prior editions (2014 and 2018), and 2022 stage routes are already receiving above average rainfall with less than a month until rally time. BAJA RALLY General Director Mauricio Parra Aguilar explains how this is a factor and what's in store.

"Our team is taking extra steps to ensure participant safety and using our past experiences to plan reconnaissance missions until after Hurricane Kay, Parra said. "It's the most important thing we can think about this close to our competition."

New for 2022, Baja Bound Mexican Insurance, a long time supporter of the Baja California communities and events, has joined the Six Day BAJA RALLY as official vehicle insurer of the event.

Although entries for Six Day BAJA RALLY remain open, new applicants are subject to "late-entry" pricing and fee structure.
