Fedima Tyres celebrates 50 years of existence

In the distant year of 1969, in Alcobaça Portugal, Fernando Dias Marques started a small company called Recauchutagem 31 dedicated to tyre retreading.   During the next years Recauchutagem 31 survived several political changes and economic crysis and was able to keep focused on their products and costumers. 

In 1990 the company gave a giant step forward and launching in to the marked two brands: FEDIMA and CAFEMA.  The less know CAFEMA is dedicated to agriculture, while FEDIMA has a much wider range of products for day-to-day use , but also racing tyres for rallies, cross-country rallies, circuits and more.

On the half century of existence the technology developed a lot, and now most of the products that came out of the Portuguese brand pass by a complex production process  that in practical terms transforms used tires to new ones, offering to the market a high  quality product reasonably priced and environmentally friendly.

On the past weekend FEDIMA gathered for a commemorative event more than 400 people, including employes, costumers, suppliers and friends, all having in common that they have or had some link to company.  During his speech at the celebration Carlos Marques (CEO) said: "This is part of a long process, marked by seriousness and quality of our products. Thanks to this we reached 50 years of existence with more than 5000 costumers(...)"

FEDIMA's production plant is located in Alcobaça, covering an area of 12 000 square meters, with capacity to return to new life more than 1000 tyres per day, from where more than half of the production departs for the 48 countries to where FEDIMA exports.   FEDIMA has one of the most varied range of products in the world, from smallest utility tyres to the largest industrial tyres used in mining or other heavy industries.

FEDIMA also produces several lines for Cross-Country Rallies, that offer top performance, reliability and extremely competitive prices.  Tyres like the FA/2, F/GUIDE, F/POWER and the newest F/TERRAIN are widely used by drivers in several countries.
