Less than a month until the first-seeded racer departs the northern port town of Baja CA, the Ensenada team has been working behind the scenes to insure the safety and compliance elements for the 7th straight running of the BAJA RALLY September 30 - October 5. BAJA RALLY is a competitor-timed competition race not to be confused with a common group ride or “fun rally”.

Timed Special Stages (Tuesday- Saturday)

• Stage 1 93KM to San Felipe- Oct 1
• Stage 2 239KM San Felipe- Oct 2
• Stage 3 308KM to Cataviña Oct 3
• Stage 4 306KM to San Quintin Oct 4
• Stage 5 225KM to Ensenada Oct 5

A “Real Rally”
The long stages make for some long days and some competitors will be challenged if they struggle to keep a well managed technical, mental and physical balance on each day. As the racers and their teams move clockwise out of Ensenada, they’ll spend 2 nights in San Felipe before connecting to Cataviña and San Quintin. On Saturday October 5, the rally concludes at a secret location before racers make their final transfer to Nico’s BAJA RALLY Pool Party at San Nicolas Hotel & Casino. Make no mistake, it will be a difficult challenge.  

Focus on Safety & Communications 
BAJA RALLY is refining itself into the “purist’s” hard core adventure competition signaled, in part, by returning racers making up 85% of the field in recent years. The organizing team is hearing the unique course routes are unanimously the favorite part and the allure for adventure seeking racers. To focus on this strength and cater to existing to their racing clients “the rally” has been streamlined for safety with deemphasized effort on marketing and social media.

PCI Race Radios and Satellite Phone Stores have provided equipment training and service to help BAJA RALLY work with Baja Bush Pilots and Symons Ambulance so the official team has full course coverage on our communications to shorten response times if any emergency situation arises.

Environmental Impact Study- Manifestacion Impacto Ambiental
In 2018 BAJA RALLY completed an unprecedented environmental impact study (manifestacion impacto smbiental) to determine any footprint the off road rally has in particularly sensitive ecologies including federally protected territories. This study has been registered with SEMARNAT, the federal environmental regular in Mexico who has consequently granted BAJA RALLY the necessary permits to cross into protected zones, justified in part by the 4 distinguishing elements of this state’s first real rally race: No course marking in the ground, no GPS track to follow, no published course map and no prerunning.
