Sertões 2020 will start in a place known for excellence in motorsport: the Autodromo Velocitta

With FIA homologated race track, off-road tracks and spaces for various event formats, the Velocitta complex, located in Mogi Guaçu (SP) will receive the start of Sertões for the first time on October 31

Sertões Rally organizers announced on Wednesday night the roadmap for the 2020 race and one of the greatest news will be the unprecedented start of the race location, which will take place at the Velocitta race track. This exclusive and modern automobile complex includes the tarmac racetrack, off-road and rally tracks, museum, racing center, and spaces for various event formats in a rural area of ​​extensive Atlantic forest, located at Fazenda Velocitta, in the municipality of Mogi Guaçu (SP) ). The competition organized by Dunas will start on October 31 and runs until November 7, arriving in Barreirinhas (MA).

"We are very proud and honored to host the biggest rally in Brazil and one of the biggest in the world: Sertões Rally. As responsible for Velocitta, we know that it is a historic moment, hosting the start of an international level off-road competition and showing how much we are prepared to receive this type of competition, in complete safety and following strict health protocols ”, says Guiga Spinelli, manager of the complex.

Homologated by the FIA ​​and CBA since 2012, Velocitta has been the scene of the biggest categories in Brazil for some years, such as Stock Car, Porsche Cup, Endurance Brazil, 500KM from São Paulo, F3 South America, Mitsubishi Cup and Motorsports, in addition to receiving several automakers' events, such as product launches from the auto and motorcycle industry. Because it is located in a region privileged by nature, the Velocitta complex has beautiful settings for recording sports and automotive programs in general.

Dunas' CEO, organizer of Sertões, Joaquim Monteiro praised the opening of the event and praised the history of Velocitta as the stage for several types of events and championships.

“For Sertões, it is an honor to have this unprecedented start in an extremely modern and highly prestigious race track, such as Velocitta. It is a location that hosts various off-road competitions, as is the case with the Mitsubishi Cup, so I am sure that the preparation will be the best possible. We feel very confident in starting Sertões 2020 in a complex with strict access control, thus allowing us to execute all the security protocols we have developed for the edition of Sertões 2020 ”, says Joaquim.

SERTÕES 2020 PROGRAM

Sertões 2020 leaves São Paulo on 10/31 and arrives in Maranhão on 7/7. It will cross 5 states and the Federal District - SP, MG, DF, GO, TO and MA, for a total of 4,749km. This year, exceptionally, the host cities - which receive the Sertões - will be kept confidential, to avoid agglomerations. They will only be revealed to competitors and to the whole caravan of the rally on the eve of each arrival in each city. Everyone will follow a pre-established and monitored route.
The pre-start concentration will be in São Paulo, at the Fazenda do Autódromo Velocitta, located in the municipality of Mogi Guaçu, about 180 km from the capital. It is a modern automobile complex that has an FIA approved race track, off-road and rally tracks, museum, spaces for various event formats in a rural area of ​​extensive Atlantic forest.
